Organizations I support

The following list contains links to organizations I support in no particular order.

  • Unitarian Universalist Church of Atlanta(UUCA)
This is the local church we belong to (we officially joined in November 2005). This place defies a lot of what you might think of when you think of "church." It is a bit further from home than our previous church, but we felt we had more room to live and grow spiritually here. You can find out more about Unitarian Universalism here.
  • First
FIRST (For Inspiration of Science and Technology) puts together various robotics competitions. I'm helping out with a First Lego League team in the Atlanta area and some other robotics clubs.
  • The Atlanta Bicycle Campaign
A non-profit organization that promotes cycling in Atlanta. " If you care about riding a bicycle on the streets of metropolitan Atlanta, you gotta be involved with ABC."
  • PATH Foundation
A non-profit organization that builds multi-use trails in and around Atlanta, Georgia such as the Silver Comet trail.
  • Public Broadcasting Atlanta
Local Atlanta radio/TV station. I listen to National Public Radio (NPR) during my commute to keep in touch with news of the world and locally. Meanwhile, Atlanta listeners ponder, "Why do they continuously have problems getting the traffic report to work?"
  • Georgia Tech
My alma mater. I have a MS in Computer Science ('94) and a BS in None ('92).
  • Environmental Defense
A non-profit that lobbies for environmental issues and issues educational materials concerning the environment, such as the Seafood Selector. "Environmental Defense is fighting to protect human health, restore our oceans and ecosystems, and curb global warming."
  • Handgun Control
Organization that lobbies for gun control issues. Also known as "Brady Campaign to prevent gun violence"
  • The Mad Housers
Organization that takes housing the homeless into their own capable hands.
  • The Mozilla Foundation
Creators of Mozilla, Firefox, Thunderbird and other really useful free software.
  • American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is dedicated to helping people in need throughout the United States and, in association with other Red Cross societies, throughout the world. I was a regular donator of blood in the past. The past several times I have had lots of trouble donating, (I have small veins and bleed slowly) so I'll probably just send money from now on.

Other Noteworthy Organizations

These are some other organizations I have supported in the past.
